Yaralla House: The Secret Mansion of Concord
Did you know there is a secret mansion sitting on the water in Concord, in Sydney’s inner west? It’s called Yaralla House, and the grounds are open to the public to explore. We happened across this property several weeks ago when we were exploring Rivendell House, as the property owners and developers of Yaralla House are the same owners who developed the property of Rivendell. Rivendell was purpose built to help children who were mentally challenged, but the property also provides some schooling for other children as well. Sunday Exploring at Rivendell School Concord
Discovered an amazing old school in Concord, inner west of Sydney, called Rivendell. It’s sits by the water and it’s absolutely beautiful. We spent a lovely Sunday lunch time exploring parts of Sydney, I really didn’t think were worth exploring. Concord. Located in the inner west of Sydney, I honestly didn’t think Concord had that much to offer. No offence Concordians (if that’s such a thing). Our past hides many secrets, history which seems to have disappeared out of sight with respect to memory and thought. I’ve always felt it’s important to seek out our haunting history and learn about our past. Which is how I ended up at Windy Gully. Interestingly enough, I knew nothing of the incident. In-fact, I didn’t even know Wollongong had a coal mining industry until I happened across a site talking about the history of a Windy Gully when I was searching online for…

Exploring The Mushroom Tunnel of Picton
AKA: The Redbank Rail Tunnel of NSW, was on the first ever railing tunnels built during the early 1800s for NSW Railway. The Mushroom Tunnel had been on my list of places to visit for a while now. You know me (or maybe you don’t), I love me a good tunnel. As long as I can see the light at the end. And I love a good ghost story as well. And believe me, just like most old tunnels of any kind, this tunnel has its fair share of ghost tales. Of course, none of which can be confirmed. The stories that is, not the ghosts. Once known as the…
