Wollongong’s Haunting History at Windy Gully
Did you know there was a massive coal mining incident in Wollongong in 1902? So, I went to Windy Gully to find out what happened there. Our past hides many secrets, history which seems to have disappeared out of sight with respect to memory and thought. I’ve always felt it’s important to seek out our haunting history and learn about our past. Which is how I ended up at Windy Gully. Interestingly enough, I knew nothing of the incident. Where to Eat in Picton – 4 of The Best Places
Picton is a great escape if you’re looking to get out of the city for a few hours. And they have some pretty fab places to eat at as well. After spending a full day exploring the town of Picton; sight-seeing, exploring, walking and of course drinking and eating. Lest We Forget. It was such a spectacular experience, to sit and reflect on a time of terrible anguish and pain, which is completely unimaginable for most of us in the 21st Century. The memorial itself sits along the Mediterranean Sea around and hour and a half east of Alexandria,…

Exploring The Mushroom Tunnel of Picton
AKA: The Redbank Rail Tunnel of NSW, was on the first ever railing tunnels built during the early 1800s for NSW Railway. The Mushroom Tunnel had been on my list of places to visit for a while now. You know me (or maybe you don’t), I love me a good tunnel. As long as I can see the light at the end. And I love a good ghost story as well. And believe me, just like most old tunnels of any kind, this tunnel has its fair share of ghost tales. Of course, none of which can be confirmed. The stories that is, not the ghosts. Once known as the…
