Where to Eat In Camden
These are my favourite cafes to eat at in Camden. Food – we all love it. I know I do. And visiting rural country and coastal towns is one of my favourite things to do when searching for good food. And I love to eat in Camden, where there is an abundance of healthy fresh local produce being served at same great cafes. And I can’t forget to mention coffee too. Which plays an important vital road for any road trip to a country or coastal town. If the coffee ain’t good, I ain’t interested. As a good cafe will always have a good barista on hand. Being gluten-free, the…

Camden’s Best Kept Secret – Carrington Care
Despite Carrington Care being a retirement village, this is Camden’s best kept secret history of the area. Whilst driving around the Camden area, searching for Autumn leaves, we happened across the most spectacular building from the 19th-century. You know how I love those 19th century buildings. So, we deiced to drive in and take a look around. I know it sounds weird to explore the grounds of a retirement village – but honestly, when you drove a quiet country road and you see the most incredible building sitting silently on the main road, atop a small hill and built in the 1800s, it’s difficult (well it is for me anyways),…

Unearthing Parramatta’s Colonial History
Some of Parramatta’s untold history has been unearthed in Sydney’s west. It depicts what colonial history was like in early Australia. Hidden deep under layers of dirt, was preserved piece of Parramatta’s colonial history, which was not discovered until excavation began for a new hotel as part of the Crown Group. Below is an extract from an article published on the Crown Group website dated 11th December 2017 which gives quite a bit of detail on the site and how the Crown has established a great exhibition to protect the history and allow anyone to go and explore it. Previously hidden underground, the remains of an 1800s convict hut and…

Yaralla House: The Secret Mansion of Concord
Did you know there is a secret mansion sitting on the water in Concord, in Sydney’s inner west? It’s called Yaralla House, and the grounds are open to the public to explore. We happened across this property several weeks ago when we were exploring Rivendell House, as the property owners and developers of Yaralla House are the same owners who developed the property of Rivendell. Rivendell was purpose built to help children who were mentally challenged, but the property also provides some schooling for other children as well. Related Post: Sunday Exploring at Rivendell School Concord Much like the Rivendell property, which you can read my previous article about this…

Sunday Exploring at Rivendell School Concord
Discovered an amazing old school in Concord, inner west of Sydney, called Rivendell. It’s sits by the water and it’s absolutely beautiful. We spent a lovely Sunday lunch time exploring parts of Sydney, I really didn’t think were worth exploring. Concord. Located in the inner west of Sydney, I honestly didn’t think Concord had that much to offer. No offence Concordians (if that’s such a thing). Though Concord does hold a lot of history, it was never one of those places I though had the type of history I would be interested in. Which is mostly historical buildings from either the pioneer days, colonial days and early 1800s. Late last…
