Are you looking for the best places too go see the Christmas lights around Sydney with friends and family, or maybe by yourself? The4se are the best five spots to check out Sydney’s amazing Christmas light show for 2019.
The Lights of Christmas:
This event has run ten years in a row now, and is held at the beautiful St Mary’s Cathedral of Sydney. Lights of Christmas is presented by Paynter Dixon and created and produced by AGB Events.
The light projection event will continue to showcase community choirs and performers from across Sydney nightly at 7.30pm. Delicious food and beverage options will once again be available to buy on-site or you can pack your own picnic.
When: Every day from 7.30pm to 11pm, starting from 5th December to Wednesday 25th December. On Christmas Eve, the show will run until Midnight to celebrate Christmas.
Frozen 2 Display at The Grounds of Alexandria:
Every year, The Grounds put up an excellent Christmas display for the most wonderful time of the year. Last year the theme was The Nutcracker, this year it’s Frozen 2 and I’m super excited to go check out the fabulous display of decorations and lights.
Be sure to go in the late afternoon, so you can see The Grounds Frozen theme transition from day to night and light up the night sky with blue icicles and stars.
When: Every day from 7am to 9pm, starting from 27th November and finishing on Wednesday 29th January 2020.
Christmas in The Square:
Located at Homebush, every half hour from sunset to 10pm at night, Jacaranda Square at Sydney Olympic Park turns into a magical Christmas display of lights.
There will be various activities, an opportunity to connect with the local community and celebrate the season together, with a variety ion places to eat at either before or after you enjoy the festive light display.
When: Every day from Thursday 14th November to Tuesday 234th December from 5.30pm to 10pm.
Canopy of Lights:
Every year, Pitt Street Mall cover the cute little shopping space with a canopy of little fairy lights. This year they have gone next level featuring 85k LED lights and ten stunning two metre high stars.
Enjoy this magical Christmas wonderland of lights with friends as you wander through the shops. Or kick back under the lights with a hot chocolate and enjoy the sparkle of the lights against the night sky.
When: Every night from 7am to midnight up until 1st January 2020.
Christmas Tree Lights:
There are a variety of different Christmas Trees scattered around Sydney to explore and admire. Start with the Martin Place Christmas Tree, before strolling over to Hyde Park to admire the colour fun tree in the park, surrounded by the fairly lights in the old oak trees.
From there, head over to the Pitt Street Mall for a walk through the Strand Arcade to look a the light display and Christmas tree and then finish up at the QVB with the spectacular Swarovski Tree which shimmers and shines from the decorated crystals upon it’s branches.
When: Every night from 6pm up until Nee Years day.
