5 Beauty Products for the Star Sign Virgo
I trialled five beauty products which are suited to my star sign virgo, according to the stars.
Inspired by all things galactic, and for reasons I am not sure of myself yet, I have been doing a lot of research and exploring into my star sign, how my birth date related to the rising sun, the rising moon and certain constellations which were present at the time of may birth and so on.
I have been experimenting in products which contain products that work with my as a person; and I don’t mean just my skin type.
This can be anything from certain botanical oils which work with my personality, my star sign and bring my overall balance, such as ylang yang and lavender and a few other interesting things a long the way.
From colours, to beauty, and even clothing and style. Over the last few weeks, I have been spending some time getting in touch with my birth sign to determine what works for me as a person, which in turn will reflect on the outside too (I hope).
I am a virgo, which means according to my star sign the best botanical oils and herbs which work for me are rosemary, lavender, frankincense, lemon, peppermint, chamomile and juniper.
So, starting with beauty here are five products I explored containing Virgo inspired ingredients, to see whether they worked for me as a person and for my skin too.
LUSH Grease Lightening RRP $14.95
This is a spot treatment gel, designed to dry out blemishes and burn them out. It’s made from witch hazel, lavender, aloe vera, tea tree, rosemary and thyme. All natural herbs and botanical known for healing qualities in skincare.
This spot treatment gel didn’t really work for my normal blemishes, I found if anything it irritated them. However, when applied to your everyday type of blemishes, they healed pretty fast and the formulation is gentle enough to not cause any irritation.
How did it work for me as a person? I loved the lavender component of this product and found the smell calming when applied to blemishes. I will continue to use it, as I did see noticeable results from the witch hazel.
Edible Beauty No.2 Citrus Rhapsody Toner Mist RRP $46
This is a toner / hydrating spray, which can be used either as a pre treatment spray before moisturiser and after cleansing, or spray lightly throughout the day to keep skin dewy and moisturised.
I really enjoy using this spray, from the smell to the texture of how it felt on my skin. It contains desert lime, calendula and bilberry, all of which are great for keeping the skin dewy and soft and it smells amazing too.
How did it work for me as a person? The desert lime is super zingy and refreshing against my skin and I loved how revitalised I feel after spritzing on my face both as a toner before moisturiser, and throughout the day too.
Formula 10.0.6 Draw It All Out Skin Detox Peel Mask RRP $9.99
This is a charcoal peel-off mask, which is gently on skin and works to draw out impurities in the skin cells, for clear and clean skin, which is both decongested and super smooth too.
It contains charcoal powder and bamboo charcoal, both of which are great for drawing our dirt from the pores. Unlike other peel-off masks, this one doesn’t set hard against the skin, so there’s no painful pulling at the skin when removing.
How did it work for me as a person? Well, there were no key Virgo ingredients in this mask. However, the texture of this mask is ideal for when my skin was heavily congested and I like that it doesn’t feel like your face is being ripped off when you remove it.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil RRP $20
This oil is part of a Clearer Skin Kit by The Body Shop, which comes with Tea Tree facial wash and toner, which work with the oil to help you achieve clearer, healthier skin.
Although Tea Tree oil is not essentially a Virgo approved botanical oil LOL, I did find this oil worked effectively for my hormonal blemishes, as it dried it out and helped it heal a lot faster than normal.
How it worked for me as a person? It hurt like crazy applying to really bad blemishes, but the pain was worth it. It significantly reduced the amount of days I had a blemish, which is is an achievement.
LUSH Sleepy Body Lotion RRP $17.95
I’ve saved the best for last. This body lotion works. It’s loaded with all types of lavender, such as lavender oil, lavender flower and lavender water, all of which are supposed to help you get a good night sleep.
I had my doubts whether this product would work or not, but you know what, from the texture of the soft shea butter formulation to the deep scent of lavender of the lotion, I was instantly calm and soothed and super sleepy within thirty minutes of applying.
How it worked for me s a person? Lavender doesn’t work for everyone. In fact, I know a few people who can’t stand the scent. Lavender has always worked for me as a relaxant, but I’ve never felt as sleepy as I did after applying this lotion.
Tip: Don’t apply to early in the night, that was my mistake and I wanted to go to bed at 6pm.
