The Easiest Way to Treat Yourself the Healthy Way
Thanks to the healthy bake mixes by Australian company Soulful Tribe, you can finally enjoy a delicious range of healthy treats made from organic, raw, vegan and gluten-free ingredients.
My first experience with Soulfull Tribe was when I attended a market in Sydney which was hosting a variety of homegrown brands who were delivering delicious foods, beauty and other items to the public, exploring new ways to experience yummy things without the guilt.
It was a while ago, but I believe it was the Banana Bread I tried and it was absolutely delicious. I couldn’t believe something tasted that good, which could be easily made in my own kitchen. Especially as vegan and gluten-free baking can be challenging at the best of times. Well it is for me anyhow.
I am not the best baker, though I have had a few success stories. I have also had many unsuccessful stories with respect to baking also. So, it’s super handy to have a products made from clean ingredients, which are actually good for you, that you can enjoy guilt-free in replacement of a bad chocolate to other sweet. And you can take the glory of baking it in your very own kitchen.
It’s been a while since I purchased any of their delicious treats, so I was super excited when I received a newsletter from Soulfull Tribe telling me there was a sale on some items. What better way to re-introduce me back to the brand and made some delicious treats which I can enjoy with friends and family.
I chose the jam drop biscuits (which I haven’t baked as yet) and the chocolate brownie. Yummy! I was so excited when they arrived and I couldn’t wait to start creating in the kitchen as it had seemed a lifetime since I last baked.

Now I know a lot of you will appreciate and understand this, but during the whole isolation period I baked way too much. From banana bread, blueberry bread, pancakes of every types and sort and a few cakes along the way. In an attempt to master my baking skills whilst stuck at home, I also added about five or six kilos to my waistline.
Using the only ingredients I had access to with many shops not trading during the #iso period, I was restricted on the type of organic and most naturally sourced dry ingredients in particular that I could use for the baking. This meant, I was stuck using refined supermarket brand gluten-free flours and way too much sugar.
So, for the last month or so, I ceased all baking in an attempt to cleanse the sugar and other nasties from my body to cleanse and try and lose weight. And in some part, I have been fairly successful. The the semi-weight loss are and cleansing the body part that is.
I was excited to start creating in the kitchen though, especially as we are now allowed to gather for birthdays. And I had so many on the horizon. As I can’t enjoy the cakes normally served at these events, having these amazing healthy bake mixes by the Soulful Tribe sitting in the cupboard, waiting to be created, means, I could make my own treats to take to birthday celebrations.
I started with the chocolate brownie mix. The recipe is super easy to follow. All you need to do is pour the dry ingredients into a bowl, add the wet ingredients (which are all vegan). For the chocolate brownie recipe, it as coconut oil and almond mylk. Too easy. Give it a good stir, place into the appropriate baking tray and then cook in the oven.

That’s it. Seriously easy. And yes, before you say it. It is essentially a packet cake, of sorts. But here’s the thing. The ingredients in these packet bake kits are all healthy and you understand what they are. Have you actually looked at the back of MOST packet cake mixes? There are often many ingredients noted there which are not good, or you have no idea what they are.
With the Soulfull Tribe packets, you know exactly what you are ingesting, and where it came from too.
For example, in the chocolate brownie packet, here’s a list of the ingredients:
- Gluten free plain flour (maize starch, rice flour, tapioca starch, rice bran, vegetable gum, guar gum)
- coconut sugar
- coconut oil
- cacao powder
- gluten free baking powder
- sea salt
- vanilla extract
Yep, nothing unhealthy there. And nothing foreign either, which makes you question whether you really want to eat it or not. Delicious ingredients, for a deliciously healthy treat, without the guilt.
